Marijuana AKA Pot or Weed

  • Over a long period of time and use, marijuana can become addictive. 
  • There are many immediate effects of marijuana on the body including lung irritation, red eyes, impaired judgement, slow reaction time, or even memory loss over long periods of time. 
  • Nearly 49% of Americans have admitted that they have tried smoking marijuana. 
  • The smoke from marijuana is inhaled through the mouth and enters the lungs. After, the chemicals in the drug enter the blood stream causing the "high" you get after inhalation. 
  • Marijuana is made from the plant called Cannabis. The plant is dried and mixed with a lace of chemicals that will burn. 
  • Pot can be many different prices depending on the type it is. It is sold in grams. A gram can be between $20-$400. 
  • There are 5 major groups throughout the country who support making weed illegal : police unions, private prison's corporation, alcohol and beer companies, pharmaceutical corporations, and  prison guard unions.
